Southern Hospitality's Catering and Event Planning is pleased to be the 2005/2006 food service provider for Southeast Atlanta Charter Middle School. The school will open August 2005 as a K-3 public elementary school serving approximately 140 children. The plans are to add a 4th and 5th grade class in each subsequent year. There is no tuition or entrance criteria, other than the student living within the Neighborhood Charter School zone. The primary attendance zones encompass the neighborhoods of Grant Park, Ormewood Park and North Ormewood Park.

The school's effort is grounded in the belief that all children can be successful learners and that parents, guardians, and the local community hold primary responsibility to ensure that all children in their neighborhood school have access to and success in public education. Closely aligned with that philosophy is the belief that a public school should be the meeting place where a socially, racially, and economically diverse area knits its many strands into a single tapestry of community.

Southeast Atlanta Charter Middle School is located in the historic Slaton Elementary School Building on Grant Street in the neighborhood of Grant Park, near downtown Atlanta. Built in 1906, this beautiful building is one of the oldest in the Atlanta Public Schools' system.
